Freak of Nature
- Why you selected the animals you did
- What part was most challenging, what part was the easiest?
- How realistic do you think your creation looks?
- Have you used photo editing software before? If so, what did you use it for?
I chose these animals because a panda is a very popular animal right now because of the song and i chose a giraffe because i thought that it would look cool with a panda head.
The most difficult part was making it look realistic and the easiest part was cutting it out.
I think it looks pretty realistic.

Automobile Body Styles and Design
Automobile Body Styles
Truck - Trucks or pickup trucks are the workhorses of the auto industry. Found with an open, flat bed for hauling a variety of cargo, pickup trucks can be fitted with three cabin options. If looking at a truck, choosing the right kind for a specific lifestyle can prove very difficult. It’s wise for a buyer to seriously realize their needs and not purchase a truck that may be too limited or excessive in capacity. In regards to passenger volume, regular cab trucks provide single row seating while an extended cab adds rear seat room for addition passengers. In order to grant improved rear seat accessibility, crew cab trucks present four-door cabins for ultimate convenience.

Luxury -A luxury car is considered the peak of driving comfort and aspires to provide the most rewarding sensation of motoring. Based on the oddity and expense of early automobiles, the luxury car category was actually one of the first vehicle types established. One key element of a luxury car is their higher cost to conventional automobiles. Brand prestige, but also technology causes the price of luxury cars to be greater.

Coupe - Considered sporty and personal, a coupe is a long-running body style in automobile circles. Derived from the days when horse-driven carriages were popular, the term coupe was initially applied to closed carriages without rear-facing seats. Created for an intimate driving feel, coupes provide a broad range of motoring tastes and budgets.
Hybrid and Electric - Combining industry leading fuel efficiency with minimal environmental impact makes hybrid and electric cars a dream come true for eco-minded motorists. One of the most widely available electric vehicles on the market is the Nissan Leaf.

Part Two of Two
- How long can it take to design a car? What phase (or stage) do they start off with?
- Why is design called problem solving?
- What is the feasibility stage? (What do they have to match up?)
- Do you think designing an automobile or other type of vehicle would interest you? Explain.

Careers and Certification in the Automotive Industry
Part One of Three
- One would be that the car could run off of a battery then when the battery dies it switches to the motor.
- They will need a good understanding on automotive repairs and some school subjects.
- High tech careers that require four, six, or even eight years of college, automotive technology careers can begin after just two years of education. As with any career, lifelong learning and continuing education is necessary, but the simple fact is, students in automotive technology can get out into the real world sooner – and with less college debt.
- "The U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts automotive repair and maintenance industry is expected to add 237,500 new jobs and have a 30 percent growth rate through 2020, making technicians one of the top 20 jobs with relatively high median earnings and the potential for significant job openings over the next decade."
- The repairs of more high tech things.
- Four are parts distribution collision repair, painting, and damage estimating
- Some aspects I would enjoy would being able to work on my own car if I get broke down or something.
- What I found interesting is that they will walk you through the whole process f you are struggling.
- It is important and necessary because it is important to know what you are doing.
- Some skills you should pick up are being nice to the person you are helping out.
Part Two of Three
Certification in the Automotive Industry.
NATEF is to help improve the quality of automotive technician training programs nationwide.
SGS is to we provide unrivaled experience, supporting governments, manufacturers, traders, financial institutions and insurance companies across the world.
ASE is to help improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals.
Part Three of Three
Jobs in the Automotive Industry.
I think the job i would enjoy the most would be " Supercar Test Driver. " I would enjoy this because it seems like a very fun and interesting job. The job I think I would enjoy the least would be a " Car Designer. " I say that because that is something I don't think I would be interested in.

Emerging Technologies and Automobiles
Part One of Two - Technologies in Development
- Out of the six emerging technologies discussed in the article you read, which one do you think is less likely to happen? Explain your reasoning.
- Out of the six emerging technologies from the article, which one do you think will have the biggest impact on society? Discuss why.
- Out of the six emerging technologies, which one do you think is almost a reality or may already be part of newer automobiles in some shape or form? (In other words, out of the six of them, which is likely to be the first technology used in automobiles?)
- The first video you viewed discusses Ford's "Driver Workload Estimator" which is a biometric sensing system. How do you think this technology could help keep drivers and their passengers safer?
- The second video looks at a possible prototype of a flying automobile while the third video shows the actual trial run of a working model. What are your thoughts on this technology? What do you think are the benefits and the disadvantages of having an automobile that can travel by land and air?
- The idea of a self-driving automobile (or autonomous automobile) has been discussed and argued about for a number of years now. Some people think it is a great idea, and they argue it would result in less driver error and fewer accidents. Other people think it is robbing drivers of the "experience" of the open road and takes away the role of driving which many people enjoy. Where do you stand? Explain your position.
Part Two of Two - Tech for the Sake of Tech?
- Many people surveyed about the technology in their cars were of younger generations. Did you find it surprising that younger people (ages 21-38) did not care about having smart phone connectivity options in their automobiles? Do you think your generation would feel the same about this option?find this option beneficial? Explain your reasoning.
- The fact that many drivers are not using the connectivity options suggest that drivers are still using their smart phones while driving. Do you think the other technologies mentioned in the article (adaptive cruise control and blind spot warnings) helps address the dangers of distracted driving or only makes it easier for drivers to take more risks? Discuss your opinion.
- Considering drivers you know (family and friends) and even your own preferences, how important are new technological features when considering the purchase of a new automobile?
- What is one new technological feature that you would like to have, or would look for, when purchasing your own automobile? Why is it important to you?
Looking at the History of the Automobile
Part One of Four - Carl Benz
- For how many years has the automobile been around?
- What is a patent? The answer is not in the video, so search for an answer online.
- When Carl Benz obtains a patent in January of 1886 for his invention, what title did he use to describe the automobile?
- Who in his family drives his invention in August of 1888? What is "born" from this drive?
- What did the so called "axial pivot steering system" help solve?
- What is the new name when the two automobile companies are merged?
- What did Benz experience as a pioneer in technology that many pioneers never experience?
- For over 120 years
- A government authority or license conferring a right or title for a set period, especially the sole right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention.
- A vehicle with a gas motor.
- His wife "Berta" and the first ever Petro Station.
- This helps solve the problem that he had with steering his the vehicle.
- The new company is called " Mercedes Benz "
- He lived to see his dream to come true.
Answer the questions and create a subtitle called "Henry Ford and the Model T"
- Explain how the assembly line changed from suggestions made to Henry Ford by three of his employees.
- Why did workers tend to stay longer and be more committed to Ford's company than other companies at that time?
- How much did the first Model T cost? For what class of people was it manufactured?
- The Model T price dropped dramatically. To what price did it drop? Why do you think it dropped so much?
- As the Model T became the main mode of transportation, what did this automobile offer people?
- They encouraged him to not let the item move down the line, but the line move.
- Made sure his employees were treated fairly by work and wage.
- First cost a little over $1000, made for the rich.
- The price quickly dropped to $800 but then to about $365 ( $7000 our money.) I think it dropped so much because there was so many being made.
- It let them go wherever and when ever they wanted. They could travel for pleasure, they could visit anyone. It was the ticket to personal freedom.
Part Three of Four - Your Video Selections (Two Videos)
The Assembly line: Then and Now

http://www.history.com/topics/henry-ford/videos/history-of-the-holidays-the-story-of-labor-day
Then
- Assembly line helped make Americas future
- With the fist assembly line, to make a car it took about 16 hours but once they started doing it the new way, they could do it in half that time.
- There job got very repetitive making the humans feel like robots
Now
- Robots now take over the most repetitive jobs.
- Robots take over most the work but the actual workers can control the robots manually.
- Nearly 250 robots doing work humans use to do.
The Rise Of Henry Ford
- First got his interest on building an automobile because he hated the idea of horses and carriages.
- Belived to invent the first internal combustion engine.
- Once he figured out how to build them, he decided he had to manufacture them.
- The Detroit Automobile Company was his first company then he later made the Henry Ford company.
- Both company's failing he made the Ford motor company and was successful.
- First priced at $900
Part Four of Four - Automobile Timeline
- 1913 First moving assembly line for automobiles developed
Ford Motor Company develops the first moving assembly line for automobiles. It brings the cars to the workers rather than having workers walk around factories gathering parts and tools and performing tasks. Under the Ford assembly line process, workers perform a single task rather than master whole portions of automobile assembly. The Highland Park, Michigan, plant produces 300,000 cars in 1914. Ford’s process allows it to drop the price of its Model T continually over the next 14 years, transforming cars from affordable luxuries into transportation for the masses.
- 1914 First car body made entirely of steel
Dodge introduces the first car body made entirely of steel, fabricated by the Budd Company. The Dodge touring car is made in Hamtramck, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit.
- 1926 First power steering system
Francis Wright Davis uses a Pierce-Arrow to introduce the first power steering system. It works by integrating the steering linkage with a hydraulics system.
- 1966 Electronic fuel injection system developed
An electronic fuel injection system is developed in Britain. Fuel injection delivers carefully controlled fuel and air to the cylinders to keep a car’s engine running at its most efficient.

How Computers Work
Central Processing Unit - The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the part of a computer system that is commonly referred to as the "brains" of a computer. The CPU is also known as theprocessor or microprocessor. The CPU is responsible for executing a sequence of stored instructions called a program.
Motherboard - A printed circuit board containing the principal components of a computer or other device, with connectors into which other circuit boards can be slotted.
Hard Drive - A hard disk drive (HDD), hard disk, hard drive or fixed disk [b] is a data storage device used for storing and retrieving digital information using one or more rigid ("hard") rapidly rotating disks (platters) coated with magnetic material.
Video Card - A printed circuit board controlling output to a display screen.
Sound Card - A device that can be slotted into a computer to allow the use of audio components for multimedia applications.
Network Card - A Network interface card, NIC, or Network card is an electronic device that connects a computer to a computernetwork, usually a LAN. It is considered a piece of computer hardware. Today, most computers have network cards.
Motherboard - A printed circuit board containing the principal components of a computer or other device, with connectors into which other circuit boards can be slotted.
Power Supply Unit - A power supply is an internal hardware component thatsupplies components in a computer with power. The power supply converts a 110-115 or 220-230 volt alternating current (AC) into a steady low-voltage direct current (DC) usable by the computer and rated by the number of watts it generates.
RAM (pronounced ramm) is an acronym for random access memory, a type ofcomputer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is the most common type of memory found in computers and other devices, such as printers.

Journal Entry #8: Digital Law
What I found most surprising about this unit is that if something bad happens on the internet to you like if someone were to post and inappropriate photo, it can be easy to remove it if you contact the right people.
What i found most confusing is that there is a lot of information in this section and I kept getting answers mixed up with different answers.
Personally I dont think it is that helpful because nobody really cares about copy right issues.
I think that the website "Needhelpnow.com?" is a usefully and helpful sight because if anyone has trouble online they can contact them for help.
I think that the biggest issue with young people copy writing is not knowing the consequences.
I think that the biggest issue with young people cyber bullying is them also not knowing the consequences and not realizing what the victims are going through.

Assignment #2: CyberBullying (and Privacy)
1."Visit the site's page on "The Law and Reporting." What are two actions that can violate someone's privacy?"
- who is in a place where the person might be expected to change or remove clothing (e.g. bedroom, bathroom, change room, cabin, tent);
- where the recording is done for sexual reasons.
Unwanted or Illegal Sexual Contact -
- . Online Luring: a situation where one person (typically an adult but not always) communicates with a young person through technology (like texting, instant messaging, emailing) to make it easier to commit a specific sexual offence against that young person. An example of a communication that could qualify as online luring is if the person asks, hints at or tries to convince the young person to create or send naked or semi-naked sexual pictures or videos.
- Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person under 18: showing or sending material like pornography to a child to make it easier to commit a sexual offence against the child.
- Defamatory Libel: publicly making statements about another person that are likely to hurt their reputation or cause others to treat them badly or ridicule them (e.g. posting online that another person is a racist).
- Impersonation: pretending or claiming to be someone else (living or dead) to benefit yourself or someone else, to hurt the person you are pretending to be or to hurt another person.
- Police
- Search online for the agency that is responsible for policing in your area.
- Phone the detachment, let them know your age and tell them what has happened.
- Cybertip.ca
- Go to www.cybertip.ca/report to tell us about your concern.
- Call our toll-free line if you would prefer to make a report over the phone (1-866-658-9022).
- Options Other than Reporting
- Speak to a safe adult such as a parent, teacher, or school counsellor for advice. Adults can offer insight and options that you or your friends may not have considered and have more authority to address concerns.
- If you are not able to identify a safe adult to talk to, contact Kids Help Phone (1-800-668-6868) and speak with a counsellor to receive help on what to do next.
- If you are unable or unwilling to seek support from family, another safe adult or a counsellor, talk to a close friend.
3."Cite three examples on how you can report a potential crime."
- Police
- Search online for the agency that is responsible for policing in your area.
- Phone the detachment, let them know your age and tell them what has happened.
- Cybertip.ca
- Go to www.cybertip.ca/report to tell us about your concern.

4.At the NeedHelpNow.com main page, there are eight sections (Learn More About...). Select two of them (we just explored "The Law and Reporting") and in a small paragraph provide some information about each section. Consider information that you think is helpful or you did not know about. The section on "Removing Pictures/Videos" is a very good resource.
- I think that Cybertip.ca is a great site because if you or someone else is sharing unwanted or inappropriate photos about you, you can contact this website and they will help you take down the photo. This is under " Removing pictures/videos ".
- " The Law and Reporting " This is also a good section because it gives an idea on what to do if you are put into this situation and also information on certain criminal offences in Canada to help give you a general understanding of the type of behavior that could be illegal and result in charges by police, as well as the places to report these issues.

5".Visit the site's page on #ChangeTheStory. Scroll down and watch the three short videos. Provide one thing that you found interesting about one of the videos."
- One thing I found interesting is how much cyberbullying goes on in peoples everyday lives.
- One change i could make is to not do any of these things.
